Craig S. Shields, P.E., G.E., Principal Engineer and founder of Rockridge Geotechnical has over 35 years of geotechnical engineering experience in Northern California. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1981 and a Master of Science degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1982.

His experience includes directing explorations of soil, rock, and groundwater conditions, design and evaluation of foundation systems, static and dynamic slope stability analyses, evaluation of liquefaction potential and lateral spreading, ground improvement, forensic investigations, and construction monitoring.

lliangLinda H.J. Liang, P.E., G.E, Senior Engineer, has over 20 years of geotechnical engineering experience throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1997 and a Master of Science degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1998.

Her experience includes performing geotechnical investigations for single-story buildings to high-rise structures with multi-level basements; institutional buildings, hospitals, and sports facilities; landfill closures and post-closure land use; preparing and reviewing EIRs; emergency response and repair of slope failures; and site development.

lmedeirosLogan D. Medeiros, P.E., G.E., Senior Project Engineer, has over 15 years of experience providing project management, engineering design, construction observation, and subsurface investigation services for numerous projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a Master of Science degree in GeoEngineering from the University of California, Berkeley.

He has evaluated sites with complex subsurface conditions, such as soft bay deposits, liquefiable soils, and unstable slopes. He has worked on projects for educational facilities, commercial developers, affordable and market-rate residential developers, public agencies, and litigation support. He has performed geologic hazard evaluations, site-specific ground motion studies, and site response analyses for liquefiable sites, as well as for public school projects successfully reviewed by the California Division of State Architect (DSA) and the California Geological Survey (CGS).

twilliamsTessa Williams, P.E., Project Engineer, has over four years of geotechnical engineering experience in the San Francisco Bay Area and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2012. Tessa recently earned her Master of Science degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in Spring 2017.

Her experience includes performing geotechnical investigations for residential and commercial development projects, public agencies, and affordable housing projects; providing recommendations for design of foundation systems and retaining walls; slope stability analyses; evaluation of seismic hazards including liquefaction potential and lateral spreading; and construction observation.

krystianKrystian Samlik, P.E., Project Engineer, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 2012 and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Specialization in 2013, both from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He received his Professional Engineering designation in the fall of 2015. Krystian is also ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I certified.

Before joining Rockridge Geotechnical, Krystian worked in the field with several geotechnical internships where he gained knowledge in geotechnical report writing, design recommendations, laboratory testing, exploratory drilling, and nuclear soil density gauge testing.
